Steam Train.

Take a journey to the past between Bauma – Bäretswil – Hinwil like our great-grandparents did.

Living train history

Take a seat in the third-class coach on a wooden bench and enjoy the huffing and puffing of the steam engine. Drinks and snacks or a speciality from the region are being served in the buffet coach.

Public steam train service

Two steam trains run every hour between Bauma and Hinwil on every first and third Sunday from May to August 2020. During six weeks from September 4 to October 18, 2020, historical trains and busses operate daily. For individual travellers and groups of up to 10 people, no advance booking is required. We will be happy to reserve a table in the buffet coach for you to enjoy a snack on your ride. Combine your steam train ride with a hike, e.g. following the Guyer-Zeller trails. Children up to 16 years accompanied by an adult travel free.

Please find the train schedule on our website under
